Summary
Symbol: Tg(IT6)5Kka
Name: transgene insertion 5, Kirsi Kananen
MGI ID: MGI:2446091
Synonyms: inha/SV40 Tag, IT6, IT6-F
Transgene: Tg(IT6)5Kka  Location: unknown
Alliance: Tg(IT6)5Kka page
Transgene
origin
Strain of Origin:  (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J)F2
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation details2.7 kb of SV40 sequences, including the large T and small t antigen coding regions and polyadenylation signal, were fused to a 6 kb mouse Inha promoter fragment and used for the transgene. RT-PCR analysis showed expression of the SV40 transgene in gonads, adrenal glands, brains, pituitary, spleen, kidney, epididymis, and submandibular gland. (J:25047)

Notes
Two transgenic founders, designated IT6-M and IT6-F, were created. The expression pattern of both IT6-M and IT6-F were similar except for occasional expression in lungs and liver of IT6-F.
    Females were sterile
Male mice developed spontaneous testicular tumors
