Mutation detailsThe entire human SOD1 sequence was used for the transgene. Seven copies of the transgene inserted into Chromosome 3 (J:18645). Northern blot analysis of brain and liver from transgenic animals showed expression of 0.9 kb and 0.7 kb transcripts similar to that in humans. Transgenic animals exhibited increased enzyme activity in nearly all tissues examined. (J:30458)
