Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:70005
Parent Cell Line:  W4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S6/SvEvTac
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA neomycin selection cassette replaced 1.6 kb of DNA containing the transmembrane domain. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that at least 10-fold less transcript was produced from this allele that the wild-type. However, western blot analysis on cells derived from homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein was expressed from this allele. (J:62257)
