Assay
Reference: J:32071 Lyons GE, et al., alpha-Actin proteins and gene transcripts are colocalized in embryonic mouse muscle. Development. 1991;111(2):451-4
Assay type: Immunohistochemistry
MGI Accession ID: MGI:1927890
Gene symbol: Actc1
Gene name: actin, alpha, cardiac muscle 1
Antibody: anti-alpha-actin
Detection system: Secondary antibody coupled to alkaline phosphatase
Results
Specimen 1A: embryonic day 9.25 (more )
Note: 18-somite.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS14: heart Present Regionally restricted 1A Alpha-actin proteins are expressed in cardiac myocytes.
TS14: trunk dermomyotome Weak Regionally restricted 1A Protein levels in the myotomes of somites at 9.25 dpc are very low but detectable at the level of the cervical somites, but absent in more caudal somites.
TS14: gut Absent 1A The smooth muscle in the primitve gut between the neural tube and the heart does not stain positively with the antibody.

Specimen 1C: embryonic day 11.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS19: trunk dermomyotome Strong Uniform 1C Uniform alpha-actin protein expression throughout the myotome.

Specimen 1E: embryonic day 10.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS17: tail dermomyotome Strong Regionally restricted 1E Proteins are expressed at high levels in rostral myotomes.

Specimen 1G: embryonic day 13.0 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS21: hindlimb Present Regionally restricted 1G Proteins are expressed in the muscle groups.

Specimen not shown: embryonic day 8.0 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS12: embryo Present The levels of alpha-actin proteins at dpc 8.0 are comparable to that seen in Fig. 1A, B.

Specimen not shown: embryonic day 11.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS19: forelimb bud Present Alpha-actin protein is also detected in limb buds.
TS19: hindlimb bud Present Alpha-actin protein is also detected in limb buds.
