Abstract:
Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutants: 1. Albino-2J (c2J). This new mutation at the albino locus appeared in 1970 in the congenic strain C57BL/6,J-b ep. It has since been propagated in a new strain, C57BL/6J-c2J, free of the b and ep mutations, by means of a fresh series of crosses to the C57BL/6 strain. Segregation ratios are normal (29.9 +/- 3.7% from intercrosses, 45.9 +/- 5.4% from backcrosses) within the strain. Of 44 matings, 93.2% were fertile and averaged 6.4 offspring per litter. Survival rate to weaning age was 95.7% from 490 mice born. (E. L. Green).
