| This locus controls presence/absence of the B subunits in LDH of erythrocytes. The a allele (absence of B subunit) is found in C57BL/6, C3HeB/Fe and CBA/J; the dominant b allele (presence of B) is found in European substrains of CBA. Alleles are recognized by electrophoretic pattern of hemolysates. |
