Full text of MNL contribution: Notes on mutants: 2) Grizzle-belly, Gb (MNL 23:31): Matings of heterozygotes produced 14 anemics: 43 normal when classified within 3 days following parturition. Anemics die during the first week of life. Gb/+ X Wa/+ produced roan individuals with white coronal areas but no anemics. These double heterozygotes when crossed to wild-type produced 5 Gb/+, 7 Wa/+, 14 Gb/+Wa/+, 9+/+. Hence, Gb is not allelic nor closely linked with Wa.
