Abstract:
Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutants: 3. Red-eyed white (mirw). A new recessive allele at the mi locus occurred in the CBA/J strain. The original deviant was white with a pigmented ring around the neck and small red eyes. The cross Miwh/misp x mirw/mirw produces Miwh/mirw individuals that are mostly white with tan spots and red eyes and misp/mirw individuals that are wild-type with a white belly spot. mi/+ x mirw/+ produces mutant offspring that are all white with very small eyes or none.
