Abstract:
Full text of MNL contribution: 4. Panda-white, Pw or W<pw>. This semidominant mutant arose spontaneously in one of our Df(dse) stocks. Fur pigment in heterozygotes is restricted mainly to the head (snout, near eyes, base of ears) and base of tail, but occasional small pigment patches are found on hips or shoulders. Homozygotes are very anemic and die within 3 days after birth. Animals heterozygous for both Panda-white and W<v> are black-eyed whites and have so far not been fertile. (Mary Sue Steele)
