Abstract:

Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutants and Linkages: 4. Slaty (slt). This recessive coat color mutation was found in 1963 in a noninbred stock carrying ldJ and mg. In nonagouti mice it causes a slight dilution of the coat color and slightly yellowish ears. It is closely linked to piebald (s) in chromosome 14 (LG III). A repulsion intercross gave no double mutants in 187 offspring. Of 10 test matings between the slt +/slt - and + s/- s offspring of the intercross, 2 produced slt/slt offspring, giving an estimate of recombination of 2/(40-2) - 5.26%. (M.C. Green)
