Abstract:
Full text of MNL contribution: M.C. Green. New mutant. Roan, suggested symbol Rn. Heterozygotes have white hairs distributed through the coat. Some hairs may have both pigmented and white parts with no regular pattern of distribution of pigment. Expression in heterozygotes is variable, some being recognizable only by the presence of a few white hairs. The variability is in part genetically determined.. Homozygotes appear very light gray, having a much higher proportion of all white hairs than heterozygotes. No discrete white spotting has been seen in either Rn/+ or Rn/Rn. Not allelic with si or b.
