Full text of MNL contribution: Mutants added: Dr. Dorothea Starbuck Miller of the Whitman Laboratory, University of Chicago, reported several new nutants in an abstract in Radiation Research 19: 184-185 (1963). She turned over to me 4 of these in 1963: 3) An allele of Sl (tested with Sl by Dr. Miller), called "sooty", mutant in C57BL/6; shows somewhat diluted coat and whitened tail, homozygotes anemic but live typically 10-40 days, black-eyed white. Symbol proposed Slso. 4) Another allele of Sl, mutant from Sl in C57BL/6 crosses; heterozygotes diluted, no white; homozygotes somewhat anemic but viable, males sterile, females slightly fertile, black-eyed white. Symbol proposed Slm.
