Abstract:

Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: A. Mutants: 2. Sex-linked dominant mottling. We now have a total of 6 independent mutations that resemble Br, Mo, To and Dp. All cause mottling of the coat color and kinking of vibrissae in heterozygous females, and prenatal lethality in hemizygous males. One of these, 26K, has been reported in earlier issues of MNL (MNL 5: 50, item (b) (2); MNL 6: 37, item 4 (b) I; MNL 8 (Suppl.) 14, item (a) (iii)) and elsewhere (Welshons and Russell, PNAS 45: 560, 1959). Linkage tests with Ta make it appear possible that 26K is a repeat of Mo. (L.B. Russell)
