Tg(CAG-cre/Esr1*)86Lbgn - Cardiovascular System
Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(CAG-cre/Esr1*)86Lbgn
transgene insertion 86, Laurence Bugeon
Driver: CAG
Type: Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer: induced by tamoxifen
Synonym: BetaMCM86, Tg(ACTB-cre)86Lbgn, Tg(CAG-cre)86Lbgn, Tg(CAG-cre/ERT)86Lbgn
Molecular description: This transgene expresses cre recombinase as a fusion protein with two copies of a tamoxifen-responsive estrogen receptor under the control of the CMV enhancer/ chicken beta-actin promoter. Expression was detected in a patchy pattern, with the highest levels of expression in skeletal and heart muscle tissue. In kidneys, cre is expressed in the nucleus of podocytes.
