Molecular description: A cassette containing a splice acceptor, an IRES-EGFP-cre, the pA sequence, and a kanamycin/neomycin resistance gene was inserted into the locus. Cre expression was expected in the presomatic and somatic mesoderm. EGFP activity was not detected in mutant embryos between E9.5-11.5, possibly due to a low level of expression of the EGFP0cre fusion protein mediated by the IRES sequence.
