Molecular description: Cre recombinase is under the control of a 954-bp highly conserved promoter active in all skeletal muscles. Five of eight founder lines induced recombination when crossed to R26R reporter mice. 3 lines (44K, 441G and 453G) showed robust cre activity at E11.5 in skeletal muscle exclusively. The line created here represents line 441G.
