Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(Mx1-cre)1Cgn
transgene insertion 1, University of Cologne
Driver: Mx1
Type: Transgenic (Cre/Flp)
Inducer: Induced by interferon (-alpha or -beta) or polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid (pI:pC).
Synonym: Mx-Cre 31, MxCre, Mx1cre, Mx1-Cre, Mx-Cre, MxCreTg
Molecular description: This transgene expresses Cre recombinase under the control of an inducible Mx1 promoter, which is silent in healthy mice, and active in the liver and in lymphocytes after induction with IFN or pI-pC. The construct also contains a 2.1 kb fragment from the human growth hormone gene.
