description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Hsf4/EGFP)N7Spbh expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene consists of BAC clone RP24-227N21(170 kb) containing the mouse Hsf4 gene with enhanced green fluorescent coding sequence with a polyadenylation signal sequence inserted at the end of exon 1 of Hsf4 that codes for part of the DNA binding domain and a FRT-Tn5-neo-FRT cassette. Flpe-mediated recombination removed the Tn5-neo cassette. This BAC contains genes between Cbfb and Hspc171. The transgene produces the mRNA for the hybrid gene containing the exon 1 sequences of the Hsf4 gene and the EGFP coding sequences and the mRNA translates into a approximate 32 kDa hybrid protein (N-terminal 41 amino acids of Hsf4 and 239 amino acids EGFP). Four lines (N1, N4, N7 and N8) were generated. Line N7 is entered as a representative line with the most severe phenotype. (J:230205)
