Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Hdc-cre)#Jmz expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA BAC (RP24-14N14) containing the entire histidine decarboxylase (Hdc) gene was modified in bacterial cells, replacing the first 47 amino acids of exon 2, intron 1, and exon 1 of Hdc with the cre recombinase coding sequence, SV40 polyadenylation signal and Frt-flanked kanamycin marker. Flp recombination removed the kanamycin cassette. Pronuclear injection of the verified construct produced founder mice. Multiple founders were generated. One founder was verified to have the transgene and produce the expected cre activity in the CNS. (J:194386)
