Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(APOE-ABCA1)30Ssf expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene consists of the human apoE promoter, the human ABCA1 cDNA, the poly(A) signal from the human apoE gene, and the hepatic and macrophage control regions of the apoE/apoC-I locus. Northern blot hybridization analysis and densitometric scanning demonstrated a four-fold increase in encoded mRNA in the liver and a three-fold increase in macrophages. The expressed protein was identified in both mouse liver and macrophage cell extracts by western blotting. (J:70494)
