Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele display defects in allergen-induced mast cell migration and degranulation. Mice homozygous for a different knock-out allele exhibit reduced long term potentiation. A C>T mutation at position 6 in the 3' UTR affects the use of the proximal poly(A) signal and reduces susceptibility to developing papillomas.
