  • Experiment
Testes from 209 male [(CAST/Ei x BALB/cBy)F1 (mshi/+) x (CAST/Ei x BALB/cBy)F1 (mshi/+)]F2 mice were weighed in reference to body size. Histological cross sections of testes were examined from the males initially classified as mshi/mshi on the basis of their testis size and from this study 80 mice were confirmed to be mshi homozygotes. Linkage analysis of these 80 mice was then carried out and the following order of loci on mouse Chromosome 10 was determined: Estr - 3.2 +/- 2.0 cM - D10Mit80 - 1.3 +/- 1.3 cM - Tpi-rs5 - Ifngr - mshi - 3.1 +/- 2.0 cM - Myb - D10Mit16 - 0.6 +/- 0.9 cM - D10Mit183 - 4.4 +/- 2.3 cM - D10Mit4.
