  • Reference
Authors use msim for locus symbol Sim2.
  • Experiment
Hybridization of the Msim probe to BamHI/BglII-digested hamster DNA revealed the presence of 3 fragments. Four fragments were recognized by the Msim probe when hybridized to total mouse genomic DNA. One of these fragments comigrates with a cross-hybridization band observed in hamster DNA (~4.8kb). When DNA from the monochromosomal hybrid 9-6AZ2 cell line, containing only mouse Chromosome 16, was probed with the Msim probe, all three unique mouse fragments were detected. Authors report that these results suggest that Sim2 maps to mouse Chromosome 16.
