    NZM2410 mice originate from an (NZB x NZW) cross. In order to construct congenic strains of mice which contain selected Sle loci, the authors backcrossed NZM2410 mice to C57BL/6J mice six successive times, screening progeny with PCR or SSR markers for specific genomic intervals. During this screening process, the authors mapped the following order of loci on mouse Chromosome 1: D1Mit48 - D1Mit188 - D1Mit147 - Sle1 - D1Mit15 - D1Mit17.
