Notes
  • Experiment
Microsatellite sequences were used as co-dominant markers to identify/map NOD mouse intervals containing recessive susceptibility alleles of insulin -related diabetes-associated genes. These intervals were transferred to C57BL/6, a resistant strain background, to produce 6 congenic strains. A gain of phenotype strategy was used in their construction. B6.NODc17 contains the Idd1 interval, mapped with markers D17Mit21 - H2 - D17Mit10 (19 cM on mouse Chromosome 17).
