Notes
  • Experiment
Wheels (symbol Whl) is a ENU induced semidominant behavioral mutant on a BALB/c background. A locus for Whl was mapped to mouse Chromosome 4 by taking advantage of a partially congenic line derived by outcrossing the heterozygous founder mouse to C57BL/6J for 2 generations. The 13 affected G3 mice were then tested for heterozygosity of BALB/c and C57BL/6J alleles at 68 PCR based markers. A significant association of the mutant phenotype with Chromosome 4 subcentromeric markers D4Mt149, D4Mit181, D4Mit1, D4Mit105 and D4Mit97 was indicated.
