• Experiment
  Using the interspecific backcross (3H1 x M. spretus)F1 female x 3H1 male, the locus Tcfe3 was positioned relative to other chromosome markers. The centimorgan distance was determined by typing 166 backcross animals for the first pair of loci and 177 for the second pair; DXWas70 - 3.0 +/- 1.3 cM - Tcfe3 - 3.9 +/- 1.4 cM - Cfp. Using pedigree analysis and selected recombinants, Tcfe3 was further positioned, establishing an order of DXWas70 - DXHXF34 - DXMit26 - Gata1 - Tcfe3 - Cybb - Otc.
