(C57BL/6JRos females x M. spretus or M. musculus males)F1 females were mated to C57BL/6JRos males producing 203 progeny. A total of 7 recombinant proximal X-Chromosome mice (ID 3, 16, 60, 82, 80, 46 and 76) were analyzed to identify the position of Gata1relative to markers DXWas70, Otc, Timp, DXWas68, DXSmh172 and Hprt. Gata1 segregated in complete accord with DXWas70 and Otc. Gata1 segregated in 3 of 7 mice with Timp, in 2 of 7 mice with DXWas68 and in 0 of 7 with both DXSmh172 and Hprt. These results suggest Gata1 is near the centromere of the X Chromosome near DXWas70 and Otc.
