  • Experiment
    The authors used a genetic map to narrow the opb2 mutation to a 0.3 cM region on Chromosome 1. This interval was represented by overlapping YACs and three characterized genes were identified in it. Subsequent sequence analysis identified mutations in theRab23 gene in the opb1 and opb2 mutants that introduced early stop codons into the ORFs. The order of markers in this region was determined to be: D1Mit319 - 13.MMHAP88Fre7.seq - D1Mit411 - 3' - Prim2 - 5' - 5'- Rab23 - 3' - D1Mit318 - 3'- Kiaa0576-hp - 5' - 30.MHAa96c6.seq - D1Mit243.
