Notes
  • Experiment
Authors isolated and characterized several cDNA and genomic clones linked to the Mest gene on mouse Chromosome 6. The order of the genes in this region were determined to be: 5' - Copg2 - 3' - 3' Copg2as - 5' - 3' - Mit1 - 5' - 3' - Mest - 5'. Sequencinganalysis revealed that Mit1 was located within intron 20 of Copg2. The 3' UTR of Copg2 overlapped at its terminal 52 nucleotides with the 3' UTR of Mest. Copg2as spans the 3' UTR of Mest and the 3' UTR of Copg2. It was unclear if the Copg2as transcripts were a part of the heterogeneous Mit1 transcripts or an uncharacterized Mest transcript.
