  • Experiment
    The authors established a 1.3 Mb BAC contig spanning the GABA receptor genes in the central portion of mouse Chromosome 5. Using selected STSs generated from BAC ends and fine mapping by fingerprinting and Southern analysis, the order of the markers in the contig was determined to be: D5Buc6 - D5Buc7 - D5Buc8 - Gabrg1 - D5Buc9 - D5Buc10 - D5Buc11 - D5Buc12 - D5Buc13 - D5Buc14 - 3' - Gabra2 - D5Buc15 - D5Buc16 - D5Buc17 - D5Buc18 - 5' - Gabra2 - D5Buc19 - D5Buc20 - D5Mit305 - D5Buc21 - D5Buc22 - D5Buc23 -Atp10d - 5' - Gabrb1 - D5Buc25 - Commd8 - D5Buc27 - D5Buc28 - D5Buc29 - 3 - Gabrb1 - D5Buc30e - D5Buc31 - D5Buc32 - D5Buc33 - D5Buc34 - D5Buc35 - D5Buc36 - D5Buc37 - D5Buc38. The orientation of the Gabrg1 gene with respect to the STS markers was not determined.
