    Using a variety of techniques, the authors investigated the nature of the Tyrp1B-w (white based brown) mutant phenotype. A 3 Mb chromosomal inversion with breakpoints in the 3' end of the first (non-coding) intron of Tyrp1 and approximately 1.44 cM distal to Tyrp1 (D4Jkn1) was found.
