Mutation details: A 5' genomic region of the human CETP including 138 base pairs of flanking sequence, exon1, intron 1 and part of exon 2 was linked using a fragment of human CETP cDNA to a 3' sequence of the same gene made up of part of exon 13, exons 14-16, introns 13-15, and 121 base pairs of flanking sequence. The resulting construct lacks introns 2-12. One male and one female founder were identified but a line was established only from the female founder. Only one copy of the transgene was inserted.
