Mutation details: This transgene consists of a 5.8 kb fragment containing the 5' promoter region of the human DBH gene, a rabbit beta-globin intron, a Kozak sequence, and a 441 bp cDNA encoding the human PTS gene. Five independent lines were generated. Line 6 was selected for further study. This line carries about 400 copies of the transgene. High levels of PTS activity are detected in the adrenal glands and olfactory bulbs while lower levels are found in other brain regions and the liver. (J:102278)
