Transgene description |

Transgene
Type: | |
Transgenic (random, expressed) |

Mutation: | |
Insertion |
| |
|
Mutation details: The Camk2a promoter drives the expression of a truncated human DISC1 open reading frame that produces amino acids 1 through 597. This truncate protein is thought to function as a dominant negative. The transgene is expressed preferentially in neonatal stages, especially in pyramidal neurons of the dentate gyrus, and does not interfer with endogenous gene expression from Disc. (J:124683)
