Mutation details: A targeting vector was designed to replace about 500 bp of sequence encoding the PKR activation domain in exon 8 with a neomycin resistance cassette. No truncated protein was expressed. The mutant hybrid mRNA was shown to contain 1-22 bases of the endogenous sequence, intron 7, 923-934 of the disrupted exon 8 and the entire neo cassette.
