Mutation details: This transgene consists of a 17.5 kb fragment of DNA extending about 6 kb upstream to 1.5 kb downstream of the human GFAP gene, including regulatory elements sufficient to direct astrocyte-specific expression. Five lines were established 3 of which had low levels of expression, lines 72.2, 73.3 and 73.4 given the strain designations TgN(GFAP)Mes7, TgN(GFAP)Mes8, and TgN(GFAP)Mes9, respectively. This is the representative record for the low expressing lines. (J:99256)
