Notes Presence of this allele in the homozygous state is necessary for expression of dactylaplasia in Dac/+ mice. It is homozygous in strains SM, BALB/c, LG, and 129/J. The dominant allele occurs in strains C57BL/6, DBA/2, CBA/J, AKR, and SWR. There is no visible effect on the feet of mdac/mdac in the absence of Dac alleles (J:6607).
