Mutation details: The human APOB gene (~19 kb of genomic sequence 5' to the translational start site of the gene and ~14kb of genomic sequence 3' to the transcription termination site) was introduced into fertilized FVB mouse embryos. Multiple lines were generated, ranging in copy number from 1 to 11 for the human gene, by Southern blot. This transgene is the high-expressing line, with an estimated eleven copies of the APOB gene in liver of these mice. (J:78212)
