Mutation details: A 1.8kb genomic fragment containing all or part of 6 exons was replaced by a neomycin resistance cassette. These sequences encode half the DNA binding domain and the adjacent oligomerization domain of the protein. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from homozygous embryonic cells demonstated that a mutant, truncated transcript was produced from this allele. However, western blot analysis indicated that no protein was detectable in cells derived from homozygous embryos. (J:73593)
