Mutation details: A neomycin resistance cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing exon A3. This exon encodes sequences common to both isoforms of the protein. Removal of this exon is predicted to cause a frameshift mutation and result in premature termination of the protein. Immunohistochemistry analysis on skin derived from homozygous mice confirmed that the protein was not detectable. (J:55865)
