Mutation details: A 0.7kb genomic fragment containing exons 1-3 was replaced by a lacZ gene and neomycin resistance cassette. This mutation placed the lacZ gene under the control of the Csf3 promoter elements. An activity assay demonstrated that the functional protein was not detectable in cultured medium derived from organ cultures of various tissues of homozygous mice. (J:20400)
