Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption The coat color of the Oca2p-un+J/Oca2p-un+J mouse (left) is phenotypically indistinguishable from wild-type. The Oca2p-un/Oca2p-un mouse (center). The pink-eyed unstable mutantion comprises a 70-kb, head-to-tail duplication of the Oca2p gene. Homozygous mice have a greatly diluted coat color and pink eyes. The coat color mosaicism of the mouse on the right is typical of all first generation pink-eyed unstable revertant phenotypes. The coat is mosaic for pink-eyed dilution (Oca2p-un/Oca2p-un) and wild-type (Oca2p-un/Oca2p-un) coat colors.
