In Fgfr2tm1.1Dsn/Fgfr2tm1.1Dsn (B) and Fgf10tm1Ska/Fgf10tm1Ska (C) embryos, no SMGs are found; undifferentiated mesenchyme is seen in the site normally occupied by SMB epithelia. PS-palatal shelf.
