Image
Caption Panel A. Development of arthritis in three homozygous females followed by clinical scoring. Panel B. A naive homozygous female with spontaneous arthritis. Panel C. Morphological sections of ankle joints taken from the mouse shown in panel B (** with spontaneous arthritis) compared to a homozygous mouse that does not develop arthritis (healthy **). Sections are stained with hematoxylin and erythrosine (x100). Panel D. The antibody response directed against collagen II and epitopes of collagen II in homozygotes with spontaneous arthritis compared to healthy heterozygotes and homozygotes.
