in 1948. From Palmerston North Hosp. to Massey Univ. as 'NOS outbred'.
To Glaxo Labs of New Zealand as 'GW outbred'. Back to Palmerston North
as 'PN'. Maintained by Wigley in Med. Res Dept. and inbred starting in
1964, with selection for positive ANA (anti nuclear antibody) in first
three generations.
Characteristics
Antinuclear antibodies appear at about 5 months, and 80% are positive
by 10 months. Develops lupus erythematosus with glomerular depositis of
IgG, IgM and IgA (
