Mutation details: A 3' portion of exon 2 and all of exon 3 were replaced with a lacZ cassette inserted by homologous recombination. The expression pattern of the fusion protein containing the lacZ sequence was similar to that of the normal protein. In situ hybridization indicated that the inserted cassette precluded the transcription of downstream sequence.
