Notes
Homozygotes show absence of Myf5 expression and resemble most of the phenotypes seen in Myf5 null mice (J:24360). Analysis has shown that most likely, Myf6 regulates Myf5 expression by a cis-acting mechanism and the skeletal abnormalities result from the absence of Myf5 rather than Myf6 (J:31636, J:42453).
