N normal phenotype
behavior/neurological
• several months after onset of hyperactivity at ~ 5 months of age, mice develop tremors
• several months after onset of the hyperactive phenotype at ~ 5 months of age, mice develop head-bobbing behavior
• at 5 months of age, mice homozygous for this mutation exhibit horizontal hyperactivity, especially when handled or placed in a new cage environment; this behavior becomes more pronounced and prolonged over time, peaking at about 9 months

hearing/vestibular/ear
N
• neither 2 nor 6 month old mutant mice exhibit hearing loss, as assessed by auditory brainstem response (ABR) and distortion product autoacoustic emission (DPOAE)

nervous system
N
• histological examination of hematoxylin/eosin-stained brains of homozygous mice reveals no structural abnormalities
