N normal phenotype
behavior/neurological
N
• social behavior, anxiety-related responses, thigmotaxis, immobility on suspension by the tail and startle reflex are not different from controls
• mice show a tendency toward lower levels of motor activity compared to wild-type controls but differences were not significant at 1, 2, or 5 months
• mutants show shorter latency to reach a rewarded arm on an L maze (enhanced incentive learning) on initial 4 days of training compared to wild-type mice at 1 and 2 months of age
• in a rewarded alternation paradigm, mutants and wild-type showed equivalent performance but in a delayed rewarded alternation test, mutants show impaired performance at 2 months of age, but not at 1 month in contrast to wild-type mice which showed improved performance at 2 months
• mice show impaired performance in delayed reward alternation, suggesting a deficit in spatial working memory; short term retention of working memory is normal

homeostasis/metabolism
• catechol-O-methyltransferase activity is around 2-fold higher in the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and striatum than in wild-type controls

nervous system
N
• at 5 months of age prepulse inhibition is not different from controls
